Today at Dayawati Modi Academy, our young patriots joyfully celebrated Kranti Diwas, commemorating India’s spirit of revolution and sacrifice. In a special Role-Play Activity, students donned the uniforms and attire of our greatest freedom fighters—Bhagat Singh’s iconic hat and cloak, Rani Lakshmi Bai’s warrior sari and sword, Subhas Chandra Bose’s military cap, and Mahatma Gandhi’s simple dhoti and shawl.
On the Academy Conference Hall, each group performed dramatised scenes. Their powerful enactments, interwoven with stirring patriotic poetry, brought history vividly to life and reminded us all of the courage, unity, and resilience that fueled India’s struggle for independence.
About Kranti Diwas
Kranti Diwas, observed every year on May 10, honors the outbreak of the First War of Indian Independence in 1857. Often called the “First War of Freedom,” this revolt marked the beginning of a nationwide awakening against colonial rule. Though ultimately suppressed, its heroes—Mangal Pandey, Rani Lakshmi Bai, Tatya Tope, and many others—ignited the revolutionary flame that would finally culminate in our nation’s freedom in 1947.
At Dayawati Modi Academy, Kranti Diwas isn’t just a date on the calendar; it’s a living lesson in patriotism. By embodying these fearless leaders, our students learn that true freedom is secured through unwavering conviction, self-sacrifice, and the courage to stand up against injustice. Today’s celebrations—complete with tricolour decorations, flag-hoisting, and these inspiring role-plays—reinforce our academy’s commitment to nurturing informed, responsible citizens who will carry forward India’s legacy of liberty.
