🌼 Dayawati Modi Academy Observes Mental Health Week 2025
Dayawati Modi Academy celebrated Mental Health Week from October 6 to October 11, 2025, at its school library. The week-long initiative aimed to raise awareness about mental, emotional, and social well-being among students and to foster a culture of empathy, balance, and self-awareness.
🌟 Inauguration Ceremony
The week commenced with a lamp-lighting ceremony by Dr. (Mrs.) Ritu Dewan, the Principal and Director of Dayawati Modi Academy. In her opening remarks, she emphasized the importance of mental health in today’s competitive and technology-driven world.
The event was organized under the guidance of School Counselor Mrs. Garima Singh, with active participation from students of Classes XI and XII, including Yashasvi, Daksha, Shaurya Sharma, Nandini Biswas, Gaurika, and Angel Suhera.
💬 Day 1: Emotional Health and Empathy
The first day’s theme focused on “Emotional Health and Empathy.” Through engaging activities, students learned the importance of understanding and expressing emotions positively.

Balloon Therapy Activity:
Students wrote down their worries and negative emotions on slips of paper and sealed them inside balloons, symbolically releasing emotional burdens.Writing with Left Hand Activity:
This activity encouraged patience and self-acceptance by making students perform tasks with their non-dominant hand.Emotional Wheel Activity:
Students explored the wide range of human emotions, realizing that every feeling has value and deserves acknowledgment.Gratitude Tree Activity:
Students expressed thankfulness for small joys in life, learning that gratitude leads to happiness and inner peace.
🧘 Day 2: Stress Management and Anxiety
The second day focused on “Stress Management and Anxiety.” Students explored practical techniques to identify, manage, and overcome stress through therapeutic exercises and mindfulness practices.

Clap Therapy:
A fun and energizing session that improved blood circulation and helped students feel refreshed.Guided Meditation & Music Therapy:
Students practiced mindfulness and deep breathing with soothing music to attain calmness and mental clarity.Art Therapy:
Using colors and creativity, students expressed emotions that are often difficult to put into words.Grounding Technique:
Through sensory awareness—seeing, hearing, touching, smelling, and tasting—students learned to stay present and reduce anxiety.
🌍 World Mental Health Day Celebration
The culmination of Mental Health Week was held on October 11, 2025, coinciding with World Mental Health Day.
The closing ceremony featured a vibrant blend of activities, reflections, and performances aimed at reinforcing the message of mental well-being.
🎭 Activities & Highlights:
Balloon Therapy, Art Therapy, Clap Therapy, and “Myth vs. Facts” Games helped students bust misconceptions about mental health.
Meditation Music Therapy guided students to inner peace and self-awareness.
Students of Classes XI and XII presented a soulful performance of the song “Taare Zameen Par,” symbolizing empathy and understanding.
Outstanding participants — Chinmay Jain, Shaurya Sindhu, Akarsh, and Pari Tomar — were awarded for their active involvement and creativity.

Dr. (Mrs.) Ritu Dewan, Principal & Director of Dayawati Modi Academy, shared her inspiring message:
