National and Cultural Festivals Celebrated Together at Dayawati Modi Academy, Modipuram
At Dayawati Modi Academy, Gandhi Jayanti and Shastri Jayanti were celebrated along with the Dussehra festival through a special prayer assembly organized by Gandhi Sadan. The program began with the school prayer, followed by the floral tribute offered to the statues of both great leaders by the School Director and Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Ritu Diwan.
The event commenced with a soulful group song “Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram,” beautifully performed by the students, captivating everyone present. Continuing the sequence, Harshita from Class 11 and Shreshth Bhardwaj from Class 8 shared their thoughts on the birth anniversaries of both leaders and the festival of Dussehra, encouraging students to draw inspiration from these occasions. Later, Mannat, a student of Class 7, recited a poem based on the life of Mahatma Gandhi, spreading the message of truth and non-violence while entertaining the audience.
As part of the celebration, students of Gandhi Sadan presented a mesmerizing dance performance based on the song “Raghukul Reet Sada Chali Aayi,” marking the festival of Dussehra. The audience was delighted and applauded the students enthusiastically. On this pious occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, students also enacted a symbolic representation of the historic Dandi March, conveying the message of truth and non-violence.
During the teacher’s address, Mrs. Anuradha Arora, Head of the Hindi Department, shared inspiring incidents from the lives of both great leaders, urging students to follow the path of truth and non-violence and to uphold the victory of good over evil. The program further included the recognition of students who excelled in various activities conducted in August. They were awarded by the Director and Principal, Dr. (Mrs.) Ritu Diwan, to encourage and motivate them.
In her address, Dr. (Mrs.) Ritu Diwan, Director and Principal of the school, extended her heartfelt wishes to the students on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and Vijayadashami. She said that Mahatma Gandhi proved through his life that truth and non-violence can transform the world. The festival of Vijayadashami teaches us that no matter how powerful falsehood and evil may seem, truth ultimately triumphs. She encouraged the students to imbibe the values of these festivals in their lives, enhance their personalities through integrity, hard work, and discipline, and contribute to the bright future of the nation.
Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ritu Diwan congratulated all the teachers and students of Gandhi Sadan for organizing the event successfully and gracefully. The event was graced by Vice Principal Mr. Vivek Yadav, Chief Headmistress Mrs. Shashi Dhaka, and Chief House Coordinator Mrs. Neeta Sirohi. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.
Following this, a tree plantation drive was conducted in the school premises to promote environmental conservation. Dr. (Mrs.) Ritu Diwan actively participated in the initiative, encouraging students to follow Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals and take a pledge to protect trees for a greener environment.
