Disaster Management Mock Drill at Dayawati Modi Academy
On 19th September 2025, Dayawati Modi Academy, Modipuram, Meerut organized a Disaster Management Mock Drill on earthquake relief and fire safety, in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh Disaster Management Authority (UPDMA) and the District Disaster Management Team, Meerut.
The event was graced by several distinguished dignitaries including Lt. Gen. Yogendra Dimri (Chairman, UPDMA), Mr. V.K. Singh (District Magistrate, Meerut), Mr. Vipin Tada (SSP, Meerut), Mr. Suryakant Tripathi (ADM, Meerut), Mr. Rajesh Kumar (DIOS), Mr. Ashok Kumar (CMO), Mr. Abhijeet Kumar (SP Dehat), Mr. Prashant Chaudhary (District Nodal Officer), Mr. Udit Narayan (SDM, Sardhana), and Mr. Sumit Kumar (DIO).
This state-level disaster preparedness drill was conducted simultaneously across schools, hospitals, factories, government offices, railway stations, and shopping malls to ensure awareness and readiness against natural disasters like earthquakes, fires, and chemical accidents.
At the school campus, students and teachers actively participated in mock exercises covering earthquake evacuation, firefighting drills, first aid, and emergency ambulance operations. A field hospital was also set up where injured victims were treated, giving students hands-on exposure to essential disaster management skills.
Addressing the gathering, Lt. Gen. Yogendra Dimri emphasized that during natural disasters, one must not panic but respond with patience, strategy, and discipline. He also highlighted the role of trained disaster management teams in rescue operations and stressed the importance of community collaboration with NCC cadets, police, and disaster volunteers.
The mock drill concluded successfully, reinforcing the school’s commitment to safety, preparedness, and awareness among students and staff.
