Cancer Awareness and Screening Camp at Dayawati Modi Academy
On 25th August 2025, Dayawati Modi Academy organized a Cancer Awareness and Screening Camp in collaboration with the Confederation of Education Excellence (CEE) and Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre, New Delhi. The camp was held at the school’s Library Hall from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM and aimed at spreading cancer awareness, early detection, and preventive healthcare among the community.
The camp offered clinical breast examinations, oral cancer screenings, Pap smear tests, blood pressure checkups, random blood sugar (RBS) tests, and weight measurement services to participants.
School Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ritu Diwan encouraged everyone to stay aware about cancer and undergo regular health checkups. Additional City Magistrate Mrs. Mridula Dubey graced the event as the Chief Guest and emphasized the need for promoting cancer awareness in society.
The expert team including Dr. Brijesh (Oral Surgeon), Dr. Shashi Rakheja (Senior Consultant, RGCI&RC), and other specialists highlighted the importance of early cancer detection and timely treatment. They shared that 80% of cancer cases can be successfully treated if detected on time, and in cases of localized breast cancer identified early, the survival rate can reach up to 98%.
Also present at the event were Mr. Gagan Deep (Deputy Manager – Marketing), Mrs. Shruti Arora (President, CEE), Mr. Vishal Kumar (Governing Body Member, CEE) along with the RGCI&RC team members.
Concluding the program, Dr. (Mrs.) Ritu Diwan, Director & Principal of Dayawati Modi Academy, extended gratitude to the RGCI&RC team, distinguished guests, parents, and teachers. She assured that the school will continue organizing such health awareness camps in the future.
The event successfully spread the message that “Awareness is the strongest weapon against Cancer.” A large number of parents and community members participated and appreciated this noble initiative.
