Dayawati Modi Academy (DMA) ushered in the new academic session of 2025 with enthusiasm and a commitment to holistic education. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ritu Dewan extended a warm welcome, encouraging students to embrace new opportunities and cultivate values alongside academic achievements. This month’s newsletter showcases a vibrant array of activities and accomplishments, reflecting the school’s dynamic learning environment.
Engaging Parents and Community:
The month began with an Orientation Programme on March 28th for parents of new students (Classes VII-XI), emphasizing the school’s vision and the importance of the parent-teacher partnership. Demonstrating its commitment to social responsibility, DMA students visited Prem Niwas, an old age home, fostering intergenerational connections and compassion.
Focus on Health and Well-being:
World Health Day was celebrated with insightful sessions. Alumna Dr. Megha, an Ophthalmologist, addressed students on health and eye care, while the Primary Wing engaged in aerobics, yoga, and discussions on nutritious food. A transformative Meditation Workshop, held in collaboration with the Confederation of Education Excellence (CEE) and international experts, introduced students to Transcendental Meditation (TM) techniques for stress management and improved focus.
Celebrating Achievements and Bidding Farewell:
DMA’s Cricket Team brought laurels to the academy by winning the 6th Angoori Devi Memorial Inter-School Cricket Tournament. Master Daksh Chaudhary (XII L) was named ‘Man of the Tournament’, Kumar Rishav (XI L) ‘Best Wicketkeeper’, Priyanshu Motla (XII G) ‘Man of the Match’, and Mr. Amardeep Sharma ‘Best Cricket Coach’. The school also bid a heartfelt farewell to two esteemed teachers, Ms. Sharda Sharma and Mrs. Geeta Arora, acknowledging their long years of dedicated service.
Nurturing Creativity and Environmental Consciousness:
Inter-House competitions sparked creativity with the Wall Magazine and Best Out of Waste events. Nehru House won the Wall Magazine competition, while Patel House secured the top position in Best Out of Waste. Earth Day was marked with special assemblies, a sapling plantation drive, and various grade-specific activities in both wings, emphasizing sustainability and environmental responsibility.
Promoting Literacy and Cultural Understanding:
World Book Day was celebrated with enthusiasm, featuring book reviews, quizzes, and the launch of Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ritu Dewan’s book, ‘The Blue Rose’. The Primary Wing held an Inter-House Book Cover Design Competition. To broaden cultural awareness, Grade 2 students visited a temple and a gurdwara, learning about different faiths and values. Grade 1 students had educational visits to a local bank and post office, gaining practical insights into finance and communication.
Dayawati Modi Academy continues its journey of providing trusted education, fostering not only academic excellence but also compassion, creativity, and a strong sense of community.
